how to search for advice

conpher provides you with comprehensive, transparent and verified data….

we have designed conpher to enable academics to rate and share their journal publishing experiences. And for colleagues to search and find advice

to help you select which journal meets your requirements to publish your research

You can enter a search either on the conpher home page or under the tab, “search for advice

Simply search by journal title, subject area or a key word related to your research.

If you select the subject area search you are linked to a comprehensive list of journals in the chosen subject area, ranked by their conpher rating score

Similarly, if you select the keyword search you are linked to a list of journals, affiliated to that keyword, again ranked by their conpher rating

if you login before searching, you access features like “compare journals” and “add to my favourites”

By selecting a specific journal title, you are taken to a dashboard. This displays a number of items. You can see the conpher rating score, and the number of reviews. You can select to read those views, and if you are logged in, you can add this journal to your favourites list.

The dashboard also displays each review criteria, and a traffic light scheme displaying the performance by each criteria

The dashboard also displays additional selection factors such as the academic experience of the author sharing their opinion of the journal’s publishing performance. And also the reasons why they selected the journal in the first place.

And finally, the dashboard shows key facts and publication data

If you elect to read the reviews left by your colleagues, you will see on the display the date the conpher review was posted, the academic experience of the reviewer and their university or organisation. You can also filter the reviews by the criteria most important to you.

If you have logged in to conpher, you can also access the compare journals function, which enables you to select up to 3 journals to compare side by side. Simply select which journals and click compare

You can then compare directly the journals and the complete data array, experiences, performances and key opinions your colleagues have shared with you on conpher
